1. Does this machine have a camera for programming as standard?

Programming is done via the Conductor Pro software. The RPS live view camera system is for watching and showing the solder results on the monitor. The Fiducial camera option can be added. Image is imported form scanner and the solder path is drawn, then all solder point variables are added, ie dwell times etc. Very simple to program.

2. Is there a solder level sensor/monitor included on this machine?

No, not on this system, solder is just topped up as required, either with solder chips or wire etc. Wastage etc is minimal due to the N2 system flooding around the point of solder contact, hence minimising dross and solder replenishment.

3. The 360o approach is this the nozzle angle or does the machine have the ability to rotate/tilt the board?

The board is held stationary on this machine and typically in the middle of the machine, whether inline or standalone so the pot moves and has the ability to move around the board by 360 degrees.

4. Is there the possibility to upgrade the size or is it limited to 460 x 460mm PCB’s?

RPS have other machines in the range.

5. How does the machine interface? (USB, Ethernet?

Machine uses a PC, so either USB or Ethernet is fine.

The Rhythm SPX soldering system provides a large soldering range within its 24” by 24” frame. This process area does not require any rotation or adjustment in order to reach its capacity. This soldering machine uses precise and reliable servo-driven XYZ axis motion control that articulates the soldering miniwave and flux nozzle beneath the PCB. A thermal performance a soldering miniwave is achieved with the use of a closed loop temperature controlled nitrogen insertion process. RPS offers innovative miniwave nozzle designs for wave stability and defect free performance.
